Perched over the waters on century old concrete piers, this boathouse underwent a complete renovation both inside and out. A winding stone path down a lush hill leads you to the main door – crossing a short bridge over a drainage moat as you enter. The owners were fond of two historic east coast architectural styles, and the exterior and interiors were a melding of both. The exterior is based on Shingle Style, with diamond and scallop shaped shingles lacing the mid walls, and a sweeping radius completing the lower walls. The interiors were taken in the Adirondack style, with casual rustic simplicity.

Awesome small house, I just love it!
I love it!
Wow factor!
Great remodel and wonderful details to protect against snow and rain damage. The sun room / screen porch is just about perfect.
A little too much wood for my taste, but that is part of the Scandinavian design / construction ethic of the North Woods region. I doubt the shingle siding is original, but it is a great solution for dealing with log walls.
The stone steps are great. But the post light was an unfortunate choice and a bit out of character with the overall design of the house. A Craftsman-style post light would have been far better for this cabin.

Absolutely gorgeous! Wish the square footage had been included!
Beautiful conversion; many nice appointments.
Stunning! This is absolutely wonderful! The location, the workmanship, furnishings….. EVERYTHING!
I love this place, but am concerned that many of your houses, including this one, never show the bathroom(s). Once you get to a certain age, there are things that are a must and make a place considerably more appealing. Is it my obsession? Perhaps. I would enjoy the design and every aspect much more if you included what I feel is one of the most important rooms in the house!
Lovely, comfy, but where are the bedroom and bathroom?
I’m always a bit surprised when these rooms are left out of the photo arrray!
Nice
