I really like this. The use of stone and wood is beautiful. It has a very comfortable looking interior. A lot of attention to detail.
Oh, I love it… such beautiful stone and wood work.
It’s beautiful. Wish that we could do that also.
Nice. I love the period style of hobbit homes, but i’m a tall guy so some illusions would have to happen to disguise doorways and room heights. Digging a semi basement can give you 8 foot ceilings without building a tall house, optical illusions can make entryways seem hobbit sized without having to bend over to enter…
That said this is a fine example, nice job!
I simply adore all of the design work that belonged to the elves and have often wished modern architects and home designers would implement this style. But I guess it’s too labor intensive and expensive and would not fly in today’s cost cutting housing market. Kudos to Mr. Archer! He’s done a really fabulous job with this; it’s a pleasure to look at like any good piece of sculpture. I hope he makes some more for posterity. Maybe make a village and have tours 🙂
I agree with Lisa: I wish modern architects would build like this. This is not only a house, it’s art. Just love it.
L. and L.E. said it all – SHEER POETRY! Art can feed your body, mind and spirit. AMEN!

WOW! OH MUH GAW! I think I just had a nerd-gasm!

This is beautiful! Every time I think I’ve just seen the best house on this site I’m corrected!
