I love how they have “catafied” their lovely home. That small fireplace is very interesting, I am sure it heats well but I would miss gazing into the fire.
If one wants to have a floating home and can build it themselves, do you know if they would be subjected to the same building codes or be liable for any type of taxes living on the water? Also, this home looks just as it is described…. Floating. It waters became a bit choppy what impact could that have on this home, just rocky or would the structure be jepordized? It’s super beautiful and I love the idea of living on the water…. Just pull your boat up to it, but is it realistic in any way?
In the beginning, I also thought I wanted to live on the water but once I found out about slip fees, boat taxes and maintenance of the structure together with cost of support services (water, sewage, etc.) it soon became apparent that this has become a rich man’s game. The cost of the original house can be pricey but all of the things it takes to stay afloat will sink you. Now I’m looking at a TH on wheels; especially since so many new and excellent builders are coming online who are creating some of the loveliest living spaces you can imagine. We are still having a problem finding places to park our THs but I think as the movement grows, more and more TH parks and villages are going to become available as a standard part of the landscape. If ever I can purchase a piece of land large enough, I will certainly consider opening a TH Park for others in the movement to come and share the experience.

That cat has one heck of a home! I love this with all my being. Well done!
What type of floors are those? They’re really beautiful.
Uninspiring
A little harsh …
