I hope those rolling steps have brakes! They are a good and unique idea but movable doesn’t seem all that safe when you step onto them. Brakes on the wheels could fix that. I can’t tell for sure but the island does seem to have brakes on the wheels.
You can see the brakes on one pair of wheels, Dorothy – the lowest step side. This is such a well considered little home that looks like it would be a pure joy to live in.
Flex room to spare affording many options and future variations with an all inclusive transparency that I’m sure most all would find warm and welcoming – I’m awestruck !!!
The raw beauty of wood, plywood and veneers are exquisite and harness a natural beauty. My only concern with the interior is sound. It would appear that this home would have a need for improved acoustics, i.e., sound-deadening. Lots of hard surfaces and floors, ceiling walls that appear to be sound boards. I want to assume that it makes for a harsh-sounding environment.
More fabrics, fabric wall-hangings, etc., would improve this… and by fabric wall-hangings I am alluding to canvas paintings in lieu of glass-covered art. Area rugs might also be helpful…
It seems to me that this website doesnt download on a Motorola Droid. Are other people getting the same problem? I like this webpage and dont want to have to skip it whenever Im gone from my copemtur.

Always excited and proud to see Australian homes!
I adore, but I don’t live even close to Australia. 🙁
