This is one of the cutest homes I’ve ever, ever seen. My mouth dropped open on the first picture and stayed that way because each picture was as good as the last. There just aren’t enough words… Awesome.

This is adorable. I especially like the cute bedroom with the wallpaper. I don’t see a lot of wallpaper anymore and I like it. Reminds me of grandma’s house. Comforting. I’d spend most of my time on that porch swing. That is a must have!

    Hi,
I work at Camp Walt Whitman in the summer in Piermont. I was on time off and I drove by your house last summer and fell in love. I even stopped my car and took pictures. I talked to a handyman last summer and he said the house was for sale at the time. I am into the little house movement so your house showed up on Facebook today. It is an adorable house!

Next time you are in Plymouth, if the house is not rented, please feel free to contact me and I’ll give you a tour of the inside!

Lovely house. And this, in my opinion, is truly what small homes are about. I believe in restoring old homes before building new ones, if at all possible. I too live in a tiny, old home. My question is where is the refrigerator? I may have only noticed that because I had to put mine in the sun room because my kitchen is too small for one.

    • Reply Susan Mathison February 17, 2015 at 8:11 pm

We’ve had a couple questions about the fridge. It is across the kitchen from the larger window. It is nestled in an alcove next to the chimney. It is NOT a minifridge, but it is right-size at 5 feet tall and a microwave sits above. I can provide brand name if you need it!

I adore this house! I truly would like to know if there’s way to get a copy of the floor plans?
    Truly an adorable home.

What historical value does this house have?

    • Reply Susan Mathison February 17, 2015 at 8:09 pm

Well, I don’t know how to place a value on the home other than it just feels historic and cozy and bespeaks a lifestyle of a simpler day. It was included in the home tour during our town’s 250th celebration. What an honor!

  • Reply Annette January 25, 2015 at 10:26 pm

That is my home for sure, thank you for sharing it.

  • Reply Jim February 1, 2015 at 5:16 pm

This is a remarkable house if it’s classified as a “tiny house.” Would I be able to use, purchase the plans for this & have a builder construct it on property I own? How large is it? Is it steel construction?

Thank you so much for your kind words and interest in the Doll House. Unfortunately, I don’t have any plans for the house outside of the exterior dimensions. You are very welcome to visit the house (if you don’t want to rent it for a night, but it might be fun!), and I can certainly give you a tour AND hold the other end of a tape measure! Alternately, if you wanted to hire someone locally to draw up some basic plans, I could likely connect you with someone and I could provide access to the house. Perhaps we could share the cost and then I could share the plans with some other tiny house lovers who have also requested to replicate this tiny gem.
Thanks again and let’s get our heads together to get you what you need.
      Best,
      -Susan.

Hi Susan – I’d be very interested in getting or taking measurements of The Doll House, and drawing up a basic plan for you to share. I currently live in Ithaca NY, but I grew up in Salisbury NH (just west of Franklin) where my father still lives, and my brother lives in New Hampton. I loved the look of your cottage as soon as I saw it, and was desperately hoping it was in Plymouth NH, and not Plymouth MA, or some other Plymouth.

I’m interested in small houses in general, particularly from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, and while I’m not currently a builder or architect, I do have 12+ years of residential construction experience with my father’s homebuilding company and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Cornell. If you can hold one end of the tape measure, I can probably figure out the other end. 🙂 This is strictly a personal project for me; I’ll give you everything I do and you’re welcome to do with it what you like.

I look forward to hearing from you!

        Thanks,
        Nathan

The most charming home I have ever seen in a small home. Could see myself there.

  • Reply Don Clarke November 30, 2015 at 6:21 am

I’m interested in the exterior dementions as we have a 33 ft lot with an already tinny house on a lot with a back lane. Our zoning allows for a lane way cottage this floor plan could work if it were under 14 ft wide if you could tell me the dimensions that would be great , thanks from. Don

I think this is my favorite of all the small houses you’ve posted.

  • Reply Seth March 8, 2016 at 8:59 pm

I would much rather have 650 sq ft. of this cuteness than 4,000 sq ft of tacky McMansion.
