My wife and I are huge fans and would love to share the house that we built with your readers! It’s in the Santa Cruz Mountains of central California, 560 sq. ft, built out of repurposed materials using Earthship design principles. It cost less than $10,000.

A 560 square feet earthship home in The Santa Cruz Mountains in California. More info. here.

Great result being creative with resources. I am curious, though, how and where did you find the land? I am hoping to build an earthship or earthen home (small – to retire in), and finding the land is going to be a real learning experience, especially if I want to live off-grid.

Love it. Are there issues with building codes?

THIS is the type of project that I hope to find every time that I come to the website!
Love to see a floorplan and shots of the bath… ?
