Whatever this building is, I can’t imagine it being a home, with such a profoundly hard and alienating interior. I bet every tiny sound you make would create an ugly echo. Such nice thick walls should have a warm plaster finish.

It’s a workshop and showroom, so it’s not really supposed to feel like a home; hence, “atelier” — meaning “workshop”. It’s a cool design, but I’m not sure why it’s on smallhouseswoon.

beautifully cold! Thank goodness for the green trees around it. Obviously not my cup of tea. However, I can appreciate it clean lines and artistic statement.

Phenomenal artistic statement. Austere yes, at first glance it might appear cold… not the usual hominess or fluffy overstuffed predictability of traditional cluttered materialism. There is so much caring attention to details, materials, design, and practicality. I’d be very interested in knowing anything and everything about this place and might ask if there are any other articles, pictures, or sites with more information available. People, circumstances, relations and serving needs, wants and desires are what make a dwelling a home… personal touches, lovingly crafted with joy and pride are the warmth.

Is anyone allowed to live in it?

Very clever using the “finishing” samples to resemble books, or at least, to break up the space.

I can’t decide either, cold as a winter’s night, or simply simple and clear.
