The replacement dwelling is set within an 18.5 acre plot, located adjacent to ancient woodland and heath, within the New Forest National Park. The massing, form and orientation of the new building has been carefully conceived in order that the proposals minimise the impact on the site and its surroundings. The main dwelling and guest building both have low rise green roofs.

A modern, minimalist replacement home with natural swimming pool in The UK. Designed by PAD Studio Architects.

When you see the title Forest house an image appears in the mind. This doesn’t match up. I like the pond and that is about it. I expected something cozy and warm but this looks cold and modern in style.

You sound cozy and warm, not at all cold and modern.

Very nice home! The range of textures an modern design are exceedingly well done. Details to treat the eye are everywhere. I especially like the use of poured concrete for some of the walls, what a great background for the wood details and screens. The pool is a beautiful feature of this fantastic home!

Architecturally gorgeous… eco-friendly too! I might add some human warmth to personalize, but overall I wouldn’t want, need or desire to change a thing. Nicely done!

If this is not the main dwelling what is their definition of “replacement house?”

What a spectacular house! Everything about this home is beautiful. Living here would be a dream come true. I disagree with the above poster; to me, this house is modern and also cozy and warm.

Love it, great example of how some people really do “minimal” well. I don’t think of it as a Forest house either…but I can appreciate the lines, how it blends with water, how it allows the outside in…..really awesome!

This is my idea of a clean , minimal style house, in the middle of no where. I just love it. Especially the big windows to have an experience of connection to nature while being inside. I’ll take it….lol

I absolutely love this design. And the pond adds a lot.
