There’s nothing small about this place; it’s YUUUUUGGGE! Heck, I could roller skate in this place. Is it smaller than the Grand Canyon?
Yes, but how many THOW’s could you fit in here???

If you’re looking for THOWs, you’re on the wrong site. This house is also a quarter of the size of some of the mansions on here, if you’ve looked around.

I think this is beautiful. I love the design and use of space. The stairs to the loft off to the side is a great design feature. Overall, this is very livable and well planned out. The exterior and wraparound deck is also very appealing. Bravo to the owners and well done!

Lisa E, this website is called smallhousebliss not tinyhousebliss. Not everything about smaller scale living begins and ends with living in a shed on wheels.

    ARTYDIANA. . .

Yes ! This is a BIG problem – we see all these wonderful designs and builds, but there seems to be NO central database of architectural firms and builders in the US who specialize in, or who at least have experience in, building these kinds of homes, particularly container homes.

Does anyone know of a list of architects and builders in the U.S. who consistently do this kind of work ? We really, really need one.

    Thanks !

    Richard

Would love to know more about this place.

    Who designed it ?

    How much?

Would they do it in Australia?

Is this house made from container? its has a relaxed feel and heart warming like you and your family can have a short vacation there,
the air should be very fresh. Thumbs up!

whats up with all the plywood…makes a home look unfinished

  • Reply Chris June 20, 2016 at 12:02 pm

Interesting and dynamic design. I like it. What I don’t like and what makes the entire project look cheap is the plywood in the kitchen. Its just plain ugly and out of place with the rest of the decor. It detracts from the overall rather than complimenting the overall. So a wrong choice there…but the rest of it…wonderful

Love this house. Our second home was L-shaped and it has always been my favorite of the four houses we have owned. The galley kitchen was at the short end with the master bedroom at the long end. We never had any sound issues if one of us sleeping and the other in the kitchen. I prefer a galley kitchen because it is very convenient. Our current house has a huge kitchen and I hate it. I have to walk all over it when cooking or baking. The loft is located perfectly as are the stairs leading to it. Great ideas for our retirement house. Great choice for SHS.
